This year’s program was an in-depth exploration of technologies that are rapidly changing the world we live in, from industry tools to the influence of social media and the people who are shepherding the revolution. It also served as an opportunity to engage with some of the design profession’s most accomplished individuals through equally inspiring discussions. The summit itself was broken into several information-packed sections including "Technology," "San Francisco Culture," and "Design Masters." Here are the highlights from each.
The Design Leadership Network Hosts a Summit for Disruptors in Design and Technology

Through a slate of educational programming, digital resources, tailored experiences, and targeted discussion-based networking, the DLN champions community, collaboration, growth, and best practices in the high-end design industry. We are supported by dedicated Partners, who represent top brands both within and outside of the interior design industry with a shared passion for supporting creative business. DLN Design Fellows focus on helping the DLN and its Members improve design education through working groups, program leadership, and other contributions that explore the evolution of design firm practices and create unique experiences for DLN Members. Comprised of esteemed leaders of the design community who have contributed to the DLN throughout our history, the Design Fellows Council provides an extraordinary level of advice and support for many DLN programs and our Members. Initial projects have included new proprietary Fellows Research in design contracts and the stages of design firm growth, and panels, talks, and tours in which Design Fellows share deep insights into their work, careers, and inspiration. Sallick founded the membership-based organization for designers, architects and landscape architects in 2003 to provide educational programs, experiences and resources for the principals of leading high-end residential and hospitality firms.

The Design Leadership Network hosted a fall intermix dinner with the Michael Phillips of the Boston Design Center on November 27. We had close to 30 members of the community join us for a lovely evening at Chickadee. Sean Kelly, NYC gallerist and famous podcast host of Collect Wisely, and Robert Stilin, wise art collector and AD100 designer, discussed buying art in the time of COVID-19.

The Design Leadership Network chose San Francisco for its annual Design Leadership Summit (DLSSF), and with "Design, Innovation & Technology" as the theme, the host city could not have been better suited. Founded by creative entrepreneur and Dering Hall cofounder Peter Sallick in 2003, the DLN is a national organization comprised of influential design industry professions across multiple disciplines. Members are interior designers, architects, landscape architects, and individuals from corporate brands and media outlets.
